Rescue & Fire Fighting

The Rescue Unit has been specially designed so that the rescue equipment is kept separate from the patient treatment area. This permits patient confidentiality and keeps the area clean and tidy reducing contamination and heat loss in extreme climate conditions. Fire fighting equipment is inside the crew area thus permitting the crew to leave with an extinguisher and deploy themselves rapidly and efficiently.

The equipment carried ranges from small hand tools, electric reciprocating saws and up to the latest specification Holmatro® cutting and spreading tool together with an hydraulic ram for creating spaces. The connecting hoses on this unit have recently been upgraded to permit 'hot' connection and disconnection, therefore reducing the time required to change between the cutter and ram.

The 24v deWalt® cordless electric reciprocating saw is ideal for rapid access into almost any vehicle, an inflating lifting air bag, glass management and removal tools, a selection of screwdrivers, spanners, hacksaws, wedges, ropes, axes, hi-lift jack, wrecking bars, casualty protection equipment, chocks and wedges for vehicle stabilisation, along with many other items including back-up equipment in case of a failure.
